Fresh Start new beginnings announce Afternoon Tea with special guest speakers

Fresh Start – new beginnings are delighted to announce an Afternoon tea at Norfolk Showground on Friday 15th November 2019 at 1.00pm for a very special afternoon tea experience.  The charity will be joined by four inspiring speakers who will share their own individual insight into sexual abuse in children.   Current figures suggest that over 8,000 children within Norfolk have been sexually abused.

The local children’s charity provides therapeutic support to children aged up to 21 years old in Suffolk and Norfolk, who have experienced sexual abuse. By attending this event, you will be able to help us raise awareness of the work of Fresh Start new beginnings and help us work with children who need our help.

Tickets are only £20.00 per person which includes a welcome drink on arrival, the opportunity for a bit of shopping, which includes a variety of local stalls offering a selection of beauty products, gifts and wellbeing opportunities before sitting down for your afternoon tea at 2.00pm.

We are delighted to announce that some renowned speakers will be attending, including;

Maggie Oliver – Maggie is a former Detective Constable with the Greater Manchester Police. She is known as a whistle-blower for exposing the poor handling of the Rochdale child sex abuse ring case by her own force.

Fiona Broadfoot – Fiona is a sex trade survivor, having been trafficked into prostitution at the age of 15 and now speaks about her experience, challenging the public and professional perception on prostitution.

Minnie Moll – Minnie is the CEO of Jarrold and previously of East of England Co-op. She is an ambassador of Fresh Start new beginnings and speaks of her abuse experiences of sexual abuse and how she has gone on to career success.

Emma Kenney – Emma is a psychologist, TV presenter, writer and expert media commentator, and is now recognised as one of the UK’s leading TV psychological experts. She has an in-depth understanding of the impacts of abuse on the emotional and cognitive development of children.

The charity hopes that the Afternoon team will offer the opportunity to network with other professionals and will be of interest to you and your colleagues, family and friends.  Please also feel free to pass on this invitation to any other colleagues or professionals that you feel would be also interested in attending.
