New chapter for family run holiday park as Belle Aire welcomes new owners

A new family is in town at popular coastal destination, Belle Aire Holiday Park in Hemsby, as the current owners step down, some fifty years after the family first opened the park in 1972.

Belle Aire Holiday Park has been a pinnacle of the Hemsby seafront for holiday makers and locals for the past 5 decades. As a boutique holiday park, with a fleet of luxury caravans, lodges and chalets, Belle Aire has prided itself on its bespoke, quality accommodation and facilities. The family run business has generated fond memories for caravan owners as well as visiting guests on the seafront for many years and it is now time for a new family to make their mark.

Former co-owner Sally Burrell, who is retiring from hospitality, wanted to make sure this culture remained and is delighted Belle Aire will be in the safe hands of a further family run business. Celebrating Belle Aire’s 50th anniversary this year, it was important to Sally to make sure the sale of the holiday park was smooth and without disruption to accommodation holders and staying guests.

New Owners Donna Bull and Ray Grant, directors of HBA Limited, are pleased to be taking over the helm. The new owners have experience as a family run business with an ever growing portfolio of holiday parks from camping and touring in country park locations such as Whylands Farm  in East Sussex through to The Hop Farm in Kent, an iconic and historic landmark which features the world’s largest collection of Victorian oast houses and is a hub of entertainment in the South East.

Donna and Ray have links to nearby Great Yarmouth, where the family once owned the seafront attraction Yesterday’s World. The nostalgic museum style attraction was lined with old fashioned street scenes, shops and a tea room. This museum was owned by the family group until closing for a year ahead of its sale in 2020.

With a connection to the East Norfolk coast, Donna and Ray were drawn back to the seafront village of Hemsby for its traditional and nostalgic charm. As a boutique holiday park with a fleet of luxury accommodation, Belle Aire hosts the perfect blend of a day at the seaside complete with amusements, fairground rides, ice-cream and of course the glorious beach coupled with the advantage of returning to a little piece of luxury.

Donna and Ray are excited for their next chapter at Belle Aire and the surrounding village of Hemsby. Bringing their wealth of experience as a family business in the holiday homes, parks and attractions hospitality sector, the pair instantly recognised the appeal of Belle Aire, particularly its quality luxury facilities and are excited to continue to build on this legacy.

Commenting on their new venture “Having looked at a number of prospective parks across the country, we were instantly drawn to Hemsby for its traditional seaside charm; it’s a real up and coming destination. Not only is Belle Aire perfectly situated within walking distance of the picturesque seafront, it provides exceptional facilities and luxury accommodation which really makes it a cut above the rest. We are really looking forward to getting to know all of the visitors, locals and regulars in the coming months and continuing to make Belle Aire the premier destination in Hemsby.
