The recently unveiled, newly refurbished 2 bedroom superior Chalet is a stylish mix of contemporary design and  luxury. To commemorate Belle Aire’s 50 year anniversary, the retro theme creates the ultimate holiday chalet escape that will ignite nostalgia and is the perfect place to create new holiday memories. Mixing both vintage and retro pieces with modern contemporary design, the chalet boasts a double and twin room, with an open plan kitchen and living area, complete with a family shower room. With added extras such as a compact record player and a mix of vinyl to play whilst you stay as well as a fabulous collection of vintage board games, the retro chalet is sure to trigger joyful memories of nostalgic holidays of old.

Belle Aire are proud to have restored the retro chalet to its former glory with the upgrading of holiday park chalets becoming a sustainable investment and for private chalet owners could also provide higher income potential. Designed in house by Customer Experience Manager Peter Box, the retro inspired chalet incorporates key pieces into the design purchasing brand new as well as preloved items to fulfil his desired outcome.

Peter commented on the new design “We wanted to commemorate our 50yrs by going against the grain of a traditional “holiday chalet” and bring in elements of stylish nostalgia. Current trends for interiors are dark greens, antique brass and fluted glass so we pulled in some elements of that with some classic soft furnishings and key pieces to create a warm welcoming atmosphere.” Peter continued “A key part of the design was to create a space that guests will enjoy. We’ve even evoked childhood memories that span pre 1970s by, using an old junior school desk as a quirky  bedroom side table.”

Leading the styling of the lodges and chalets, Peter has been keen to mix old and new furnishings and trinkets, searching social media and marketplaces to source rare  items in the retro chalet such as the tan sofa and 1970s lamp in the living area and vintage rocking chair in the bedroom.

For the lodge, Peter had to be creative on space and fitting to the overall look of the Bijou lodge. It features full size single beds and a king size bed in the main room and remains current with the integration of fluted glass and black iron. The styling incorporates pictures and art on the walls which were sourced from various Etsy sellers.

The new lodges and renovation of the retro theme chalet began through the course of the pandemic, with Peter reporting the difficulties in sourcing new caravans over this period. To overcome this, they turned their attention to alternative accommodation resources, locally manufactured lodges and the revamping of the traditional holiday park chalets.

The aim for the lodge and chalet also is to offer a space where guests can enjoy a touch of luxury and offer a higher standard of accommodation than is typically found at seaside holiday parks. Peter commented “We are extremely proud to have remained at the heart of the Hemsby holiday scene for the past 50 years. It’s great to see so many regular faces as well as new visitors to the park who are keen to try the Belle Aire holiday park experience for the first time. We are continually working to enhance the park’s appeal and our 5 star luxury accommodation  is proving a real hit with visitors, showing that it is possible to combine tradition, nostalgia and luxury under one roof.”
