Good Food Guide names Tuddenham Mill as best Suffolk restaurant

For the third year running, Tuddenham Mill has been named Suffolk’s best restaurant in the influential Good Food Guide. The boutique hotel and restaurant, which also holds a prestigious three AA rosettes, is set around the mill’s original water wheel and serves a range of beautifully presented, great tasting food using locally sourced produce.

Chef Patron of Tuddenham Mill, Lee Bye, said: “We’re over the moon to be the highest rated restaurant in Suffolk by The Good Food Guide for a third year running. It really is a team effort. We’re very proud of the food we serve our guests and the special experience we offer to everyone who visits. We’re thrilled to be included amongst so many great Suffolk restaurants that fly the flag for Suffolk and the wonderful producers we have on our doorstep.

He adds: “We’re focused on the lead up to the new year now and are taking bookings for a very special Christmas at the mill. It’s a wonderful time of the year to visit – to relax and enjoy a bit of indulgence. The team at Tuddenham Mill know how to pull out all the stops for a fabulous festive season!”

The Good Food Guide review said of Tuddenham Mill: “Maybe it’s the combination of millpond, dipping willows, gliding swans and meadows, or maybe the food coming out of the talented kitchen that makes this place in an ordinary village in an unremarkable part of East Anglia feel like an effortlessly lovely oasis.

It continues: “Come for refined food, but don’t expect fluff or fuss: Lee Bye’s style is rugged, unpretentious, uncompromisingly ingredient-led.”

Tuddenham Mill is situated just off the A14 between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.  Focused on comfort and luxury, it has 21 rooms, each with king -sized beds, Bose sound systems, smart TVs , walk-in showers, Missoni dressing gowns and Espa toiletries.  There are also dog friendly rooms
