Containing 1kg of chocolate, the oversized hot chocolate is more than 20 times bigger than a standard mug of cocoa/hot chocolate and has been getting shoppers’ attention at the East of England Co-op’s Acle supermarket in Norfolk. Using Gnaw’s Milk Choc Hot Shots and five litres of milk, the hot chocolate has been topped off with marshmallows.
Matt Legon, Founder of Gnaw, said: “We are very proud to be a local producer in Norfolk and our talented chocolatiers work hard to make sure that our chocolate tastes as good it looks. We were impressed by the East of England Co-op’s ginormous hot chocolate and we think that customers will agree that it looks delicious.”
According to recent research conducted by Evvnt, East Anglian adults will spend an average of £417 on Christmas, including food for the festive season. With this in mind, the East of England Co-op is getting behind local producers to highlight the high calibre of Sourced Locally Christmas produce available across Norfolk, and the value of shopping local for our regional economy.
Roger Grosvenor, Joint Chief Executive of the East of England Co-op, said: “Food plays an important role at Christmas, and by switching out one treat for a local alternative, customers can help to support our region’s producers.
“We have something for everyone, from Christmas essentials such as cranberry sauce and sausage meat, to sweet festive treats including mince pies and hazelnut praline. Whatever you choose, local produce is delicious and shopping local reduces our carbon footprint.”
