The Canine Crèche Group welcomes the new Dog Walking Code launched by The Pet Industry Federation (PIF).
Professional dog walking has become an increasingly popular service, due to the changing habits of the general population and a heightened awareness of animal welfare. The new Dog Walking Code, which has been developed in collaboration with Dogs Trust and the RSCPCA, aims to provide guidelines for professional dog walkers, ensuring the highest standards of welfare to the dog, respect to the environment and peace of mind to the owner.
The Code of practice covers issues such as the health and welfare of dogs, in particular:
Understanding each individual dog’s needs
• Transport
• Exercise
• Group walking
The code also covers the professional conduct of dog walkers, with regard to their impact on other animals and the environment; as well as the various pieces of legislation that they need to consider in order to comply with the law and qualifications they might like to consider undertaking.
This is something Candace Rose, the MD of The Canine Crèche Group, takes very seriously “We recently launched our new ‘Nana Crèche’ service, with our first intake of Nana’s currently undertaking training. All our new in-home care services are designed in line with new legalisation, research from industry insurers and an innate desire to inspire the public with our service levels.”
Canine Crèche Nanas are all psychometrically tested prior to employment to ensure they are appropriate “care givers”. All Nana’s are DBS checked, canine first-aid trained and fully insured. All Nana’s walk with GPS trackers, which emails the owners directly with information about their walk.
If you have a requirement for a Nana and want to book a free in-home consultation or find out more, contact The Canine Creche Group on info@nanacreche.co.uk or call on 01473 636151 to speak with the Nana Creche team.
