Home Bargains store opening in Norwich creating 88 new jobs

Home Bargains has invested approximately £1 million in its new store in Norwich, which will be officially opened at 8.00 am on Saturday 7 November 2020.

As one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, Home Bargains is creating 88 new jobs in the local community with its store on Hall Road Retail Park, including 78 sales assistants, five lead sales and five senior management positions.

It will also be donating £2,000 to the local charity, The Benjamin Foundation, which helps children, young people and families in Norfolk and Suffolk to deal with some of the challenges that life throws at them.

The charity delivers a range of services to support local people, including working to prevent youth homelessness, helping families to build stronger relationships, offering emotional wellbeing support and providing positive activities for young people with limited opportunities in life.

The new Norwich store will join over 500 outlets across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry.

Lauren Philpotts, the new Norwich store manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our new store in Norwich this Saturday and look forward to welcoming customers through its doors.

“Having worked for Home Bargains for close to 5 years, I can honestly say opening the new Hall Road Retail Park store is one of the highlights of my career and I’m so excited for people to see all the amazing things we have on offer in store.”

The 20,000 sq ft store is adjacent to Aldiss, Pets at Home, Hughes Electrical and Aldi, and will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Lauren added: “Hall Road Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

With more than five million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s best-loved discount retailers, stocking top-quality branded goods at low prices.
