Vistry Group, the FTSE 250 listed housebuilder, has exchanged contracts for a new site consisting of 252 homes in Wymondham, Norfolk.
The 17-acre location is located to the north of Vistry’s existing Birch Gate development, cementing the company’s presence in the area.
The site has been acquired in partnership with Taylor Wimpey on a 50:50 basis. Vistry’s share will comprise 252 new homes under the Bovis Homes brand ranging from two to five-bedroom homes. It will include 213 for private sale and 39 affordable housing.
The site also benefits from outline planning permission and construction is due to start in Summer 2021.
The new development is situated on the outskirts of the historic market town of Wymondham, just 11 miles from Norwich, which offers excellent connections as well as immediate access to local amenities. Wymondham has a range of local independent shops on offer as well as a choice of supermarkets and a monthly Farmer’s Market. There are also plenty of quality arts and sports facilities to choose from.
Keith Carnegie, chief executive officer of Vistry Housebuilding, said:
“We are excited to increase our offering of high-quality new homes in Norfolk. Our Birch Gate development in Wymondham has already proved immensely popular so it’s excellent news that we’ll be able to offer more homes to people in the local area. House hunters will benefit from the range of Bovis Homes housing types within a popular, easy to reach location, as well as all the local amenities the area has to offer.
“We continue to see very strong demand for our product so this latest contract will allow us to deliver much-needed housing, all the while boosting investment and jobs in the region.”
Vistry Group, which also includes Linden Homes and Vistry Partnerships, holds a five-star rating award from the Home Builders Federation, following the annual announcement of the industry’s customer satisfaction survey results.
