Fresh Start new beginnings, a local charity that supports children who have been victims of sexual abuse, will be hosting an afternoon tea on 12th October in Ipswich, to raise much needed funds for the charity.
The event will be hosted by Wayne Bavin from BBC Radio Suffolk, and will be attended by guest speakers; Maggie Oliver, the former detective who exposed the Rochdale grooming scandal, Kieron Dyer, the former ITFC and England footballer who spoken candidly about the abuse he had suffered as a child and Minnie Moll, Fresh Start new beginnings Ambassador.
Guests are invited to arrive from 1.00pm, where they will receive a glass of fizz on arrival, and an opportunity to browse the stands exhibiting at the event. Afternoon tea, prepared by catering students from Suffolk College, will be served from 2.30pm.
Patsy Johnson-Cisse, Fundraising Manager at FSnb said; “The team from Greshams, Maggie Oliver, Wayne Bavin, Kieron Dyer, the catering and hospitality students and Brewin Dolphin, are giving their time and expertise for free in support of the charity. We are blown away by those who have come forward to help. The ticket price more than covers the goody bag each of the attendees will receive. Over half of the tables have already been sold with local businesses inviting guests to network, groups of local friends and also families who want to support the charity.
“Having Suffolk College on board also makes this a local event with local children helping support local children. It costs the charity around £2,500 to work with one child, £2,500 to help a child who has been sexually abused rebuild their future. If we are able to sell all tickets, we should reach our target of £5,000, which will help two children on our waiting list”.
The afternoon tea takes place on Friday 12th October, at Greshams, Tuddenham Road, Ipswich. Doors will open at 1.00pm. Tickets are £25pp. Please contact Patsy on 01473 705111 or email for tickets.
