Get in quick and snap up your early-bird tickets for EACH’s Splash Out! in Bury St Edmunds

Families have a few days left to snap up discounted tickets for this year’s fun-filled Bury St Edmunds Splash Out!

The East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) fundraiser is taking place in Nowton Park and early-bird tickets are available until midnight on Sunday (13th February).

More than 800 people took part in 2021 and this year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, 15th May.

Adults and children alike can run, walk or jog through a five-kilometre course, tackling six inflatable obstacles, including wobbly floating bridges and ball dodges.

Hannah Forbester, EACH Events Fundraiser, said: “Everyone here is very excited about our Bury Splash Out!

“Last year’s event was a huge success – a family-friendly, exciting and fun-packed day enjoyed by adults and children alike.

“It’s back by popular demand and there are different obstacles, so will feel completely fresh and different.

“It’s worth noting that you don’t have to complete the 5k course and little ones can do half the distance – three obstacles over a 2.5km course.

“The whole course is very flexible and if a child doesn’t like the look of one of the obstacles, they can easily move on.

“Early sign-up numbers are encouraging but there’s still time to take advantage of our early-bird offer, so our advice would be get in quick!”

As part of the discount scheme, adult tickets (16+) cost £16 and children’s tickets (aged 4-15) are £9. Children must be accompanied by a full-paying adult.

A family ticket (two adults and two children) is available for £45.

All tickets include a t-shirt and medal.

“This is our first mass-participation event of the year and we’re very much looking forward to it,” added EACH Events Fundraising Assistant Jess Mallett.

“Nowton Park is a perfect venue and Bury is handily placed for people living anywhere in East Anglia.

“It’s not far to travel and, from the rave reviews we received last year, it’ll be well worth signing up for and supporting.”

Wave times start from 10am and run every half-hour until 2.30pm.

Children must be four years and over to take part.

EACH has lined up other eagerly-anticipated events for 2022, including a cycle challenge, a children’s obstacle course, a Bubble Rush and another Splash Out! in Huntingdon.

The charity hopes to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to help its work supporting families and caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.

EACH has three hospices – The Treehouse, in Ipswich, at Milton, near Cambridge, and The Nook, in Framingham Earl, near Norwich.
